1. Aim
The aim of this Instructor qualification is the promotion of the highest level of competence in sea kayak training. This is to be achieved through running training courses (RSTs, A-courses, training for prospective B and C Certificate candidates) and through a programme of further education (workshops, technical training and training offensives) within the Salzwasser Union.
Instructors are expected to fully integrate themselves in the “B/C circle.”
2. Basic conditions
The C-course is accomplished over two weekends and takes place on tidal waters. The training course is run by nominated Instructors of the Salzwasser Unioon. Each participant is required to pay a course fee of 50 Euros. Running costs for the course can be recouped by members of the course team. Campground and local tourist taxes are to be paid by course participants themselves.
The minimum number of participants on a C-course is four; and the maximum number of participants is not to exceed seven.
3. Conditions
The participants must be members of the Salzwasser Union.
Participants with physical impairments should consult course staff at registration, or before training commences. Swimming in paddle clothing forms part of these physical conditions.
The sea kayak and its related equipment must correspond to the safety standards as laid down by the Salzwasser Union, in its Sea Kayak Handbook (Seekajakhandbuch).
Candidates must have held the B-Certificate for at least one year.
Re-entry and roll in moving water must be accomplished within 3 minutes.
The participants must have participated in a broad spectrum of a minimum of five training meets (RSTs, A-courses, B-courses, Workshops) in the context of the outline course programme.
